Connection to place grounds my teaching practice and creates meaning in my artwork. The community within and around Portland, Maine is my home!

Upcoming:

South Portland Fourth Graders and The Telling Room

I am thrilled to collaborate with The Telling Room, a Portland-based writing and storytelling non-profit organization, for a 13-week long Identity Project offered to all 4th graders in the South Portland School District. Along with a close colleague, I am designing the visual art component to this project, which is expected to roll out mid-May 2021. Stay tuned for the digital archive . . . !

Waynflete Summer Art Camp

Portland Museum of Art

I love celebrating local inspiration. I designed an experiential art lesson inspired by the PMA’s Permanent Collection. Alongside the Learning and Teaching Specialist at the PMA, I developed a lesson for older students to make a piece of artwork inspired by the temporary show, Untitled, 2020: Art From Maine in a ____ Time. Anyone can experience a virtual visit of the exhibition at the PMA right now by clicking here.

Space Gallery and Portland Housing Authority

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Portland Press Herald

I was featured in the local paper! Click here to read about my journey to becoming an art teacher.

February Vacation Virtual Art Camp

I had the opportunity to get creative with a group of artists ages 10+ over their winter vacation week. We made Kandinsky-inspired quilts, hot glue stamps, Zentangle mandalas, and more! This was organized with the help of the Continuing Studies department at the Maine College of Art.

South Portland Parks and Recreation

I co-taught students participating in after school programming. During Halloween, we experimented with secondary colors and organic and geometric shapes to make these spooky monsters!
