Diversity Statement

I recognize that if my voice was the only one considered when developing my lessons, my students would experience a limited or biased art education. One of my core values is to develop an anti-racist art curriculum that celebrates artwork made by artists of marginalized backgrounds. As schools continue to explore the role of equity, I see my art room as a space where each and every member is a vital part of the learning process. Therefore, on the walls of my classroom and in my lesson planning, I survey who and what I am showing to my students.
